Teen Dating Violence Week

As the father of two, one being a girl, I'm not particularly excited about the idea of students "dating."  Frankly, when it comes to "dating," my view is that it should not be allowed until the teen years are over.  Unfortunately, the rest of the world does not necessarily share my view on that...and I doubt my kids will either.

In order to help promote the idea of healthy relationships, all PISD high schools are promoting "Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week."  The message of this week is essentially that students should not be in relationships that are controlling, harmful, or demeaning.

Here is a video made by one of our own students this week.

You can also go to http://www.loveisrespect.org/ for more info and resources behind this week.

Wednesday night at PHS Fine Arts Center from 7-8:30, there will be a community event to share student products, enjoy the good company of others, and distribute resources/information.

Tables are set up at all lunches to promote the week and distribute information.
