HHS Students visit the R.E.A.L. World

R.E.A.L. World Pflugerville is PISD's job shadow program which allows students to see first hand what goes on in the workplace.   R.E.A.L. is an acronym for relevant experiences achieve learning.

The goal is for students to spend time with a worker in their field of interest, gain working knowledge of a business, get an idea of the skills required in the world of work and find out the academic preparation necessary to pursue a particular career.  Job Shadowing also helps students see how their work in the classroom relates to job success.

52 CTE students from HHS  were selected to participate with Pflugerville and Austin area businesses.  Students worked side by side with managers, owners and employees to learn the day to day structure, operations and goals of businesses and industries. Businesses participating with us this year were PISD Finance, A+ Federal Credit, Aramark Food Services, Target, National Instruments, Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, The Flower Child, Outback, Game Salad, Walgreens, First State Bank and McDonald's.
